Hi Beth,

I had a wonderful time fishing with you! It was my first time doing anything like this and it's an experience I'll never forget. It was a relaxing day of being pampered and spending time with friends. I can't wait to go again!

Thank you so much for taking such good care of us. :)       Robin

This fishing trip met all my expectations. I wanted to relax, work on my tan, and catch fish. What a day! The boat was luxurious, spacious and sparkling clean. Captain Beth was very knowledgeable of the area. We had the tackle and gear to catch any fish out there. She made us a wonder gourmet lunch and we dined in the azure waters of the gulf. How divine! The scenery, warmth of the sun and the joy of catching fish with my girlfriend was as they say priceless.        Cindy Locke

I went salt-water fishing for the first time just recently. I cannot remember when I have had so much fun! It was my friend Tracy's birthday trip and she invited myself and another lady, Robin, to come along.

The first place we stopped to fish was a small bay. Nothing was biting just then, but I was not upset in the least. I was enjoying watching the pelicans and a couple of horseshoe crabs. My mind was drifting, along with my bobber, until I heard Capt. Beth Layer mention the name of the bay. I was certain I had not heard her correctly.

She repeated herself, "It's called Hooker Bay."

Yes, we were out in a boat with 'Girls go Fish Charters' painted on the side, fishing in Hooker Bay.

We got into some blue fish first, and they were quite stealthy about taking our bait. We did land a few and that was exciting. Robin caught the first real fish of the day; a good-sized Spanish mackerel.

The wind picked up and we came back up into the Suwannee. The scenery was particularly lovely on the river. Salt cedars, red bay and moss-draped cypress lined the banks. Tall, straight palms stood starkly above wide expanses of grass.

Somewhere in the middle of all of this, we stopped for lunch. It was amazing, and Beth had thought of everything. It was then I realized, with a start, that she wasn't just one of us. She was taking care of us and doing it so smoothly we didn't even notice. She was baiting every hook, netting the fish, securing pliers and poles before moving the boat, etc. And all the while laughing and cutting up with us. We were having a big time.

The real excitement came when Tracy and Robin both hooked big catfish at almost the same moment. Tracy was at the front of the boat fighting with her fish, yelling, "Help Robin! Help Robin! Don't let her lose it!"

Beth had one net ready to scoop up Tracy's fish, and I was trying to take pictures and grab the other net at the same time. I got the pictures I wanted, but nearly fell overboard in the process.

Once both fish were in the boat, we were screaming and laughing…Tracy was jumping up and down and posing with her fish. I noticed a man alone in a boat approximately 15 or 20 yards away. He was trying to act like he wasn't watching the spectacle. He failed miserably. He was really enjoying himself. I stood back watching for a moment. Laughing, I thought, "Laurel and Hardy go fishing." Then I realized, no, not Laurel and Hardy. This is just the way it is when…...

......Girls go fish.                     Martha Heaton

What an amazing Birthday fishing trip!!!!!

Captain Beth Layer pampered us from the beginning.

Our hooks were baited, our fish removed when we caught them......she kept us constantly hydrated with chilled water. When we were in the Gulf and when we returned inland she would explain from her wealth of knowledge of the ecosystems in the area. Then we dined to an amazing meal that we enjoyed immensely while anchored next to a grassy island. The scenery was beautiful, the fishing was great, the food was divine, the company couldn't get better as I had some of my girlfriends on board. We will do it again!!!.

Thank you again Beth.
Blessings,
Tracy Varnes
